Kreuzberg: Both Sides — Free Self-Guided Walking Tour
Kreuzberg: Both Sides
3.2 km · 8 stops · 75–90 min · Free download
Kreuzberg isn't one neighborhood — it's two, separated by a canal and about thirty years of gentrification.
This walk starts in Bergmannkiez, where Saturday organic markets fill a square that hasn't changed since the 1880s and the coffee costs more than a döner. It ends in SO36, where a punk club named after a defunct postal code still books acts that won't fit anywhere else.
In between, you'll cross the Landwehr Canal — the invisible border where the stucco gives way to graffiti and the café menus switch from English to Turkish. You'll visit two market halls built one year apart, now serving completely different Berlins under the same iron roofs.
No entry fees. No reservations needed. Just comfortable shoes and a willingness to notice what changes when you cross a line that isn't on any map.
